Very warm and friendly welcome from Caroline. Nothing is too much trouble! The setting of the cabin is lovely and you’ll be visited regularly by red squirrels. It’s a place to totally relax and forget about the crazy world we live in!

This is our second visit and on both occasions all arrangements have been easy and clear. The Shepherd's Hut is a very special place to be, warm and comfortable and attractive, and its setting in the wood is perfection itself. It is an extremely quiet environment with birdsong and sounds of weather predominant. Our hosts are always available while respecting guests' privacy. The new patio area is a great bonus giving even better views of the bird feeders and resident red squirrels.

We decided not to venture far on this stay - a few short local walks, a visit to the tea room in Askrigg (Bakewell), and to Sedbergh. Cotterforce is a particularly recommended for anyone with limited mobility - it is wheelchair accessible and is a lovely place to picnic and swim (weather permitting).

What a wonderful place! Great hosts and a wonderful shepherds hut in a beautiful woodland with so much wildlife. Waking up to red squirrels in the morning is magical. We enjoyed walks from the door and had such a relaxing time. Without a doubt we will definitely be back. The perfect spot for a bit of R&R!

Easy short walk to Hawes through fields that lead you straight to the Wensleydale creamery a must visit when in the area! The chippie in Hawes is one of the best - who knew deep fried Wensleydale could be so nice Hardaw Force is must see stunning plus there is great pub nearby with lovely beer. We also stopped at Aysgarth Falls on the way home well worth a stop! The falls are tremendous after all the rain.
